Inside my neighborhood

Greetings!

One of the greatest ways of enjoying life at its fullest is to have everything needed at one's disposal. But when what one needs is not available, then to live a fulfilled life would be kind of difficult and frustrating. And with this, man can go into depression and complaints would be the order of the day.

Now, living a fulfilled life in my area has been made difficult for all that stays in my neighborhood and this is not because we people don't want to live such a life where we would enjoy everything at our disposal, but because, the basic necessities were not made available to us by those that are meant to do so for us.

Though, we have been complaining about those social amenities, but all to no avail. We have complained about our roads and nothing was done, we have complained about the insecurity in our neighborhood and yet nothing was done. What of the shortage in power, on this, we have only heard the government promising us on many occasions with nothing being done to salvage the situation for us.

Still on this electricity issue, sometime last year, we wrote letters on many occasions both to the local government chairman and to the electricity distribution company that were in charge of the electricity distribution in my area, but till now nothing has been done to salvage the situation.

Now, we are still living in total darkness, we charge our phones and PCs with money, people have bought solar lamps just to illuminate their surroundings and homes and with this, most of the people in my hood now spend more than expected.

The most annoying part is how I have not been able to make use of the electrical appliances I bought with my hard earned money, this is really frustrating to me, I have not on my television set for the past 6 months, by blender has been on holiday for almost the same month, what of my fan, it's not been put to use for quite sometime now, though, I have also resulted to buying fuel to fuel my generating set, but the hike in the price has been so discouraging and even the economy was not even smiling at me. How long would I even stay like this?

Even with all these, the distribution company is not even trying at all, they still come with their increased bill and expect us to pay for the services we are not enjoying or benefiting from. What a country? I have on so many occasions tried to get another apartment from another neighborhood, but when I inquired about the other place, the same story was what I was told. Who will liberate us?

This is so pathetic, but I believe there would be freedom one day, but till then, things are not moving as it ought to be because of the lack of drive which could have been orchestrated by steady power supply to our community.
