Hello, fellow hivers out there! How are you? I'm back. Thank you for upvoting, commenting, and reblogging all my previous posts. It's been a week that I was not able to post my blog here due to circumstances that cannot be avoided. But now that I have spare time, I will grab this opportunity simply because I miss you all and of course, I miss writing here.
And here's my new blog, highlighting the significance of being together by preparing, bringing, and sharing our foodstuffs with our brothers and sisters in church. I believe we have different or similar experiences and memories of being together with our family, workmates, and church mates. And I'm pretty sure here, that everybody can relate to this blog. Hoping always for continued support from you.Thank you in advance.
The congregation had agreed to have this Get-together Lunch every 5th Sunday of the month. So this will happen only if there are months with five weeks or five Sundays. And since March month has, so we did and celebrated it last March 30, 2025. A week before this event, our Pastor had announced and encouraged everyone to bring our foodstuffs for lunch in church. He further instructed us to prepare those that are affordable and available in our respective homes because it's always crisis in the Philippines.
But we did not know, that somebody from us was going to celebrate her birthday. It's Auntie Flora, the strong and prayerful woman. Yes, literally we were all surprised because the birthday celebrant had prepared something for us.
In the early morning of March 30, 2025, almost everybody is busy with our preparation.
Our worship service started at 9:00 a.m.The music team stayed on stage as they played the instruments and led the songs. The word of God was delivered by Pastor Jorge Ursal focusing on how to remain faithful to our God and that is to hate less and give more. Hate less or never care or never mind to our bashers out there. But rather, spend more time for the works of God, and offer any services to our neighbors and friends. Giving more, does not only speak about money. Would it be for, clothing or anything that we can extend to others? Remember when giving, don't expect a return to someone you have extended to because according to God's word " It is He who will pay you back or give you the reward". Wow! So amazing! I am so thankful to You God for that.
Our worship service lasted for two and a half hours.
At exactly 11:30 a.m., we arranged all the food in a long table. And there you can see the delicious and nutritious foods we have in the table. So yummy! There were tinolang whole chicken, daing bamgus, chicken caldereta, Humba, pansit, fried and roasted chicken, chop suey, menudo, adobong octopus, mongo with pork, cooked sweet potatoes, Biko, shrimp tempura and a gallon of buko juice milk. Yes, it was a simple celebration but with a fully loaded stomach.
Moreover, this celebration enlightened up our minds that there is so much joy in simple things. Having small or nothing is not a hindrance to pursue a fellowship. It also uplifts everyone's sense of responsibility and boosts self-confidence. Engaging in this joyful event can eliminate problems and stress. It can also be considered as a showcase of talents for cooking. Participation among all members was also maximized. As you can see in the picture, the attendance was almost perfect.
This celebration is open to all. So for those who might be interested, I am inviting you to join us every 5th Sunday of the month. Thank you for reading and God bless you always physically, emotionally, financially, and spiritually.
