I met this incredible piece of art in Ghana when the new 20th Hive borehole was inaugurated. It was created by a Kofi Agyei Senior High Technical School student. The event was filled with rich performances-school dances, poetry recitations, and all forms of art-making. Everyone there felt the change that comes through access to clean water. Despite all this artistry, however, from among other things that stood to me that day was this one painting.
Art has always been a wonderful medium for story-telling, and this student's work serves as a prime example of how deep feelings and real-life experiences are put across in an original way. I was also reminded by young talents in the school of just how deep the end of talent can go. Through their dances and poetry, their work revealed not merely their thankfulness but the hardship they have gone through on account of their absence from clean water.
Young talents in schools should be encouraged to continue developing their own artistic skills. Creativity in the form of drawing, painting, writing poetry, or even acting is something that can open countless doors for young people. Schools must provide a stage for trainees to show off their abilities, receiving acclaim and thus confidence from the audience. Enter the Hive blockchain!
