Lazy Monday: A Fun-Filled School Break with Friends°❀⋆.ೃ࿔*:･

Sunshine and Smiles, Hivers! I'm back again for another blog post for this week. In today's blog post, I'm going to share with you all how I and my friends do while we have a long vacation in our school days. Let's get started!

Every Monday, we always had a long vacancy from 9am to 2pm. Our professor in FOLA sometimes does not meet us to have a class, or she will meet us, but she will only have a short discussion. That's why I and my friends decided to hang out at our house to chill and to wait for our next class, which is the 2:30 pm class. Unfortunately, our professor told us that day that he would not meet us because he had other errands to do; that's why my friends decided to go to our house and do the research revision.

For this time, since we had a lot of food stock in our house, I decided to share it with them. First, my friends prepare everything else needed to be prepared. By chopping the ingredients of the carbonara. We had a leftover uncooked pasta; I gave it to them, and they decided to make it a carbonara because my friend loves carbonara. Trisha, Fhaneza, and Mikay prepared all the ingredients of the carbonara by chopping all of it and doing the mise en place. While Joshua cooks the pasta, the work will be smooth and fast. He was also the chosen one to cook the carbonara because he was good at it.

As you can see in the picture, this is me peeling the banana since we are going to cook pinaypay. Did you know "pinaypay" is a Filipino delicacy where we usually put a batter on the banana to make it bigger and crispier. The word "Pinaypay" comes from the word fan. "Pinaypay" is the Tagalog word for fan, and we call it pinaypay because it looks like a fan when it cooks. This is also one of our snacks every afternoon, and some vendors sell it costly. Maybe it was expensive because occasionally the kilo of the banana is also expensive, and also, the type of banana usually used for pinaypay is also expensive if you're going to buy it, but it's free if your neighbor has a plant of this kind of banana haha.

Sheila and Mikay put some batter on the banana because currently, she is waiting for Joshua to finish cooking the carbonara since we only had 1 burner to use in cooking. They even argue about who will cook the bananas since they keep talking about how they contribute to preparing the food and keep joking around. We are shocked that they put the batter on the banana even though it is not time to cook yet. When we cook pinaypay, we usually don't put the batter on the banana before cooking; instead, we put the batter on if the banana will be submerged in the oil.

Here's my cat, Wibble. She kept waiting in the kitchen, but she didn't annoy us while we were very busy preparing food in the kitchen. I'm thankful that she's not that kind of cat that usually annoys in the kitchen if somebody will cook in the kitchen and keep getting some food. She just keeps staring at us, busy making food, and occasionally, she keeps meowing and asking to pet her.

Here's Joshua, cooking the carbonara. He was assigned to cook the carbonara since some of our friends do the mise en place. But my friends help him to give the ingredients if he will ask. This is the day that I knew that it's ok to use evaporated milk on the carbonara because it makes the carbonara tastier and creamier. Usually, I used only all-purpose cream for the carbonara, and over time, it will dry up. Maybe I can try Joshua's carbonara recipe again because when we taste it, it tastes so delicious.

While waiting for Joshua to finish his carbonara. I and my friends decided to take a picture at Fhaneza's tablet. As you can see, I also use my tablet to take a picture, and it is so massive that it is difficult to hold in one hand. It took plenty of effort just to picture this.

After a minute, Trisha decided to make a revision to our research since we still need to revise it because many errors have been made, and also, we keep revising it because the deadline keeps approaching. While they are busy revising it, Joshua and Fhaneza are busy on their phones, and they are chilling out because they are finished preparing the food.

As you can see in the picture, we started to cook the banana by frying it. We lower the heat so it will not cause burns to the banana because cooking bananas is very fast, and if you're going to cook it on high heat, it will burn. We just waited for Mikay and Sheila to finish cooking the banana. While I and my other friends were hanging out at the sala watching some movies at the same time, doing TikTok dances.

As you can see in the picture, here's the finished product of the food that we prepared. We decided to eat that as a group; even the carbonara was the first one cooked.

We took some pictures while eating because we were going to send them to our group chat so our other friends would crave what we eat and envy us because they are here at my house. We happily eat and share the food and talk about the school and some old memories in our friendship. We also paired the food with a soft drink because Joshua and Sheila are craving a cook, and with that, all of us buy soft drinks because of them.

They didn't finish all of the food because they were full enough, and they wanted to take a rest. After we ate, we started to revise the research, and when 4pm started to kick in, they started to go home and say their goodbyes and thank you for me.

And that's the end of my blog, Hivers! This type of bonding we usually do when we hang out at my place. This is also the key to having a good connection with your friends because you will really know what they are and realize how lucky you are to have them.
