The story of this achievement begins in a parking lot. I had started the car's engine in order to drive home, after having picked up our recently renewed passport. It was February 2023 when my cell phone rang as I was leaving the lot and like any sensible driver, I stopped the car to answer @arlettemsalase, who wanted to ask if I had my valid passport. At the time, she had already contacted two other hivers to accompany her to an event in Peru in the middle of that year, but they did not have valid passports. Venezuelans need a visa to enter Peru and this had to be done in advance. BlockchainCon Latam 2023 was approaching and Arlette could not wait for the fate of the country's bureaucratic apparatus. She saved herself some headaches and contacted me. I don't know, but you really have to start connecting the dots. She could have traveled with someone else, but I was the only one she contacted up to that moment, the one who had everything in place.

La historia de éste logro comienza en un estacionamiento. Había encendido el motor del auto con la finalidad de conducir a casa, luego de haber retirado nuestro pasaporte recién renovado. Corría febrero del 2023 cuando mi móvil sonó en plena salida del lugar y como todo conductor sensato, detuve el vehículo para atender a @arlettemsalase, quien deseaba preguntar si tenía mi pasaporte vigente. A la sazón, ella había ya contactado a otros dos hivers para que le acompañaran a un evento en Perú a mediados de ese año, pero estos no tenían los pasaportes al día. Los venezolanos necesitan visa para entrar en el Perú y tal gestión había que hacerla con tiempo. La BlockchainCon Latam 2023 se acercaba y Arlette no podía esperar a la suerte del aparato burocrático del país. Se evitó dolores de cabeza y se comunicó conmigo ¿Destino? No sé, pero la verdad habría que comenzar a unir los puntos. Ella pudo haber viajado con otra persona, pero fui el único a quien contactó hasta ese momento, quien tenía todo vigente.
Our plane took off from Maiquetía, Venezuela to Panama (first) with final destination in Lima, Peru. After meeting the previous morning with the local hivers who would help us with the logistics and attention of the stand where HIVE was a sponsor, the only thing missing was the talk about our ecosystem, a responsibility assigned to Arlette who fell ill with a powerful flu virus. The night before the talk she leaned on this server and told us: “Marco, I will not be able to give the talk in these conditions, you will have to assume the representation of the chain” And so fate put us in the way of a stage with more than 900 attendees, with a minimum capacity for 2,000 people just hours before such a responsibility. It was intimidating, but we drew on our previous experience of addressing sales forces and everything went very well.

Nuestro avión despegó de Maiquetía, Venezuela hacia Panamá (primero) con destino final en Lima, Perú. Luego de reunirnos la mañana anterior con los hivers locales quienes nos ayudarían con la logística y atención del stand donde HIVE era sponsor, sólo faltaba la charla sobre nuestro ecosistema, una responsabilidad asignada a Arlette quien cae enferma de un potente virus gripal. En la noche previa a la charla ella se apoyó en éste servidor y nos dijo: "Marco, no voy a poder dar la charla en éstas condiciones, vas a tener que asumir la representación de la cadena" Y así el destino nos puso en el camino de un escenario con más de 900 asistentes, de un aforo mínimo para 2.000 personas justo horas antes de tamaña responsabilidad. Aquello fue intimidante, pero nos basamos en nuestra experiencia previa de dirigirnos a cuerpos de venta y todo salió muy bien.
Among those attending the talk was Fernando Quirós, editor-in-chief for Latin America of the Spanish-language CoinTelegraph, who asked us to give an interview to the digital press. He would call one of his editors in Venezuela, who would be in charge of asking the pertinent questions. We met again at the Cripto Latin Fest of Colombia 2023 and we only talked on that occasion. In November 2024 we were invited to attend the LABITCONF event in Argentina, but this time we would not be sponsors. Even so, I never stopped contacting Andrés Tejero (Crypto Tendencia) or Fernando Quirós (CoinTelegraph). I incidentally extended (Destination?) our stay in Argentina and we found out through the networks about the proximity of the MERGE Buenos Aires event. It was not in the plans of @valueplan to sponsor this event, but our intuition spoke to us and told us “it is a golden opportunity for HIVE" That said, on OUR OWN initiative, we decided to buy the event ticket and attend.

Entre los asistentes a la charla se encontraba Fernando Quirós, editor jefe para latinoamérica del medio CoinTelegraph en español, quien nos emplazó para conceder una entrevista a la prensa digital. Llamaría a uno de sus redactores en Venezuela, quien se encargaría de hacer las preguntas pertinentes. Nos volvimos a encontrar en el Cripto Latin Fest de Colombia 2023 y solo conversamos en aquella oportunidad. En Noviembre 2024 fuimos invitados a asistir al evento LABITCONF en Argentina, pero ésta vez no seríamos sponsors. Aún así, nunca dejé de contactar a Andrés Tejero (Cripto Tendencia) o a Fernando Quirós (CoinTelegraph). Extendí incidentalmente (¿Destino?) nuestra estadía en la Argentina y nos enteramos por las redes de la cercanía del evento MERGE Buenos Aires. No estaba en los planes de @valueplan hacer de sponsor en este evento, pero nuestra intuición nos habló y nos dijo "es una oportunidad de oro para "HIVE" Dicho esto, por iniciativa PROPIA, decidimos comprar el ticket del evento y asistir.
The rest was history. Previous contacts at other events led us to the final meeting. Two business lunches, continuous networking and a couple of offers. I already told you about the first one here and about the second one, we are making this official announcement. Gentlemen members of our beautiful hive, we have been chosen as guest author for the digital media CoinTelegraph in Spanish and our first collaboration has been this one. We have editorial freedom to deal with the topics we want, without incurring in the promotion of HIVE events. That is, we will be able to tell the news of key relevance originated within our blockchain, leaving aside one of the main sources of income for the media (advertising fees for event promotion). However, we believe without fear of contradiction that we can have a win-win relationship with this partnership. Our articles there will be ad-hoc (precisely because I am a guest author). El resto fue historia. Los contactos previos en otros eventos, nos encaminaron al encuentro definitivo. Dos almuerzos de negocios, networking continuo y un par de ofertas. De la primera ya les conté acá y de la segunda, estamos haciendo el presente anuncio oficial. Ya hace casi 2 años de esa llamada, querido amigo, e insisto que era el destino el que nos quería juntos trabajando ese año y espero que muchos años más.
Súper feliz y orgullosa por todos tus logros porque, aunque Hive tiene mucho que ver y aportar en ellos, sin ti como autor principal jamas se habrían logrado.
