Hyundai works driver Ott Tanak is the first of all works drivers from World Rally Championship to test at tarmac ahead of WRC Islas de Canarias Rally 2025. They are testing in town called Cordoba in Spain and whoever know else.
I know that works teams organize testings with event organizers and that was the same when the Croatia Rally was part of WRC from 2021 to 2024. Organizer would propose various routes with roads very similar to these from the rally and then the teams would test at different locations just to prepare as best as possible for the rally.
Just to tell you - for those who don't know - TESTING IN RALLYING MEANS TRAINING, and many guys don't know what does it mean. Yeah, that's it.
So, Estonian Ott Tanak is also 2019 WRC champion and he will try this year to achieve this again but I don't see this coming easily because Toyota's Elfyn Evans started the season at the top level. But in mechanical sport like rallying, everything is possible so one retirement can change lots of things.
Tanak just counts on this and tries his best to be on the pace with other guys from the top. Lets take a watch at his testing videos. Please enjoy!
